Kate Jonas

Kate Jonas is Head of Global Consultant Relations at Nuveen. Prior to joining Nuveen, Ms. Jonas led Defined Contribution consultant relations for the US and Canada Institutional Defined Contribution team within BlackRock's Global Client Group. She served as a member of the US Defined Contribution Executive Committee. Ms. Jonas is a Defined Contribution Institutional Investment Association (DCIIA) Executive Committee member and the Vice-Chair of the Retirement Income Committee. From 2011–2016 she was a member of the Board of Directors of the Robert Toigo Foundation, and Chair of the Audit Committee.

From 2008 to 2010, Ms. Jonas co-headed BlackRock's US/Canada Pension and Tax-Exempt client team within the Global Client Group and became a team leader for the integrated BlackRock/BGI organization. Ms. Jonas spent one year co-heading the Eastern Region Institutional distribution team at AQR before re-joining BlackRock in 2008. From 2000 to 2005, she was a senior member/Co-Head (2005-2007) of the Financial Institutions Group within BlackRock's Global Client Group, responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with the firm's insurance and other taxable clients.

Prior to joining BlackRock, she spent three years with J.P. Morgan Investment Management, as a client portfolio manager in the Global Balanced Investment Group . Her responsibilities there included implementing asset allocation within global balanced portfolios, client communications and new business development. Prior to that, Ms. Jonas led the marketing effort for gathering third party assets at MBIA Capital Management and served as the product manager for Morgan Stanley Asset Management's emerging markets business. Ms. Jonas began her career with Morgan Stanley & Co. where she was the Director of sales and marketing for the Morgan Stanley Capital International index and research business
Ms. Jonas earned an MBA degree from The Wharton School and an AB degree in Government and American studies from Smith College.
