Mark Fortier
Mark is co-head of NISA Investment Advisors' defined contribution solutions business. He is responsible for advancing thought leadership and retirement research as well as developing new and innovative products that address the needs of plan sponsors and participants. In addition, he focuses on establishing strategic partnerships and integrated solutions with recordkeepers, insurance companies, investment managers and consultants.

Mark has 30 years of experience in the retirement industry with senior leadership roles in technology, operations, actuarial, product development and asset management. Prior to joining NISA in 2015, Mark was a managing director for State Street Global Advisors and the Head of Global DC Research and Product. He was also the head of DC Product & Partner Strategy at Alliance Bernstein during which he led the design and implementation effort which supported United Technologies' innovative launch of Lifetime Income Strategy as its investment default. He also served as Chief Technology Officer for Transamerica Retirement Solutions. Mark served on Employee Benefit Research Institute (EBRI) Board of Trustees from 2013 to 2014 and currently serves as Executive Board Member and Chair of the Retirement Income Committee of the Defined Contribution Institutional Investment Association (DCIIA). Mark holds a BA from Columbia University and an MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business.
