As we look ahead to a new year, I wanted to briefly reflect on some of last year's highlights and share them with you, our valued members. Without you, none of this is possible.
We will be taking a deeper dive into past accomplishments and future plans at our annual Membership Meeting in Ft. Lauderdale. I hope to see you there!
We deepened our commitment to research
In addition to taking concrete steps to launch the DCIIA Retirement Research Center in 2018, last year we published seven different thought leadership pieces on topics including auto features, financial wellness, investment vehicles, and more. Much of our published work was complemented by related webinars.
We focused on connecting people and sharing idea
Members came together at our three signature live events -- the Investment, Public Policy, and Academic Forums. We also initiated a series of small, informal regional events via our Ambassador program, hosting networking events in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Washington, DC.
We encouraged industry players to focus on excellence
Plan sponsor best practices were once again in the spotlight thanks to our co-sponsorship (with Pensions & Investments) of the annual Excellence & Innovation awards.
Our members collaborated on DCIIA committees, projects and task forces
Our standing committees, the Retirement Research Board, and various task forces all came together throughout the year to lead and support research, events, and other DCIIA core initiatives. Thank you to all of you for your ongoing hard work and commitment.
DCIIA staff worked to implement a new website, email, and contact management system in order to provide the best possible service and information to our members. We've become increasingly active on social media as a way to share news about DCIIA and the retirement industry as a whole. We remain focused on being fiscally conservative and operationally efficient.
