Cynthia Mallett is Vice President, Industry Strategies & Public Policy in Corporate Benefit Funding (CBF), in the Americas organization of MetLife. CBF provides investment and insurance products to corporate and other institutional plan sponsors for funding and liability management for their qualified retirement, welfare benefit and nonqualified executive plans and programs. Industry Strategies & Public Policy was formed in July 2012 to focus on the next generation of CBF's external strategy development and execution, and provides centralized business support for all of CBF's public policy related work. In addition, Cynthia's group is responsible for CBF's thought leadership research program, identification and evaluation of emerging issues, product research, new idea evaluation and related market analysis.
Cynthia has over 25 years of experience in developing and implementing employee benefit programs and products. Immediately prior to assuming her current responsibilities, Cynthia created and ran Product & Market Strategies beginning in December 2005, which developed CBF's initial external strategy and included the Investment Strategies Group, which continues to provide investment services and support for MetLife's institutional third party asset management across all of CBF's separate account based products. Prior to that, Cynthia founded and ran the Post Retirement Benefits (PRB) group at MetLife to address non-pension retiree benefit liabilities for Institutional clients.
Cynthia joined MetLife in 1979, and was appointed Assistant Vice President in 1989 with responsibility for product management, marketing, and National Accounts client consulting in structuring group life and health programs before developing the PRB group.
Cynthia earned a B.A. from Mount Holyoke College and obtained her CLU designation from The American College in 1982. She has been a Registered Principal with the NASD/FINRA since 1996.
