Jim Sia is Head of Relationship Management at Loomis Sayles. He overseas the client portfolio management teams in the U.S., London and Singapore. Prior to his current role, Jim was Director, Defined Contribution & Sub-Advisory at Standard Life Investments (SLI). In this role, Jim developed new relationships for SLI in the U.S. across both segments. In addition, Jim helped form strategic direction, developed segment specific content and informed product development, etc., for Sub-advisory and Defined Contribution business segments.
Before joining SLI, Jim had a similar hybrid DC/Sub-Advisory role at GMO, LLC where he spent five years. Mr. Sia also spent ten years at Wellington Management Company, LLP, where the last five of years were exclusively focused on the defined contribution market as Director of Defined Contribution for the Americas. He led a dedicated defined contribution team that worked directly with consultants, plan sponsors, record keepers and other influencers.
Prior to joining Wellington Management, Jim was with Charles Schwab Retirement Plan Services where he was responsible for a team of business developers in the corporate defined contribution market. Initially at Schwab, he led the Investment Consulting group, supporting the client and sales teams and also led the construction of a set of sub-advised collective trusts. Jim's other defined contribution experience includes roles at Fidelity Investments. Related financial services industry experience includes work on the sell side at Credit Suisse First Boston and in corporate finance at The Boston Company.
Jim earned his MBA with a Marketing concentration from Boston University and his BS in Economics, Finance and Investments from Babson College. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. Jim is Immediate Past Chair and co-founder of the Defined Contribution Institutional Association (DCIIA). He is a member of NAGDCA (National Association of Government Defined Contribution Administrators), having served on the Publications Committee.
